Amanda Bynes will remain under a court-ordered conservatorship despite her recent Twitter tirade against her parents. A
judge in Ventura County, Calif., made the quick decision Friday after a
lawyer claiming to represent the troubled starlet was turned away,
according to TMZ.
The
site reports that the attorney could not be Bynes' legal representative
because "she lacked capacity to enter into a binding contract" while
under the current conservatorship.
The
28-year-old actress had tweeted Friday that she planned to go to court
to end her parents' control of her personal and financial affairs, but
she never appeared. TMZ reported she was last spotted eating watermelon at a Hollywood diner around lunchtime.
Just one day after being released from psychiatric hold, the 28-year-old actress returned to social media Friday morning and started making disturbing claims against her father. TMZ.com Amanda Bynes was spotted at Mel's Drive-In in Hollywood shortly before she was due in court Friday.
"I
am going to court today with my lawyer to prove that I am more than
capable of handling my personal life and finances and I am enraged," she
wrote.
"I
got released from the hospital that Sam Lufti and my parents arranged
to send me to because my dad is humiliated by what he's done. The police
filed a report against my dad - I am not able to be in the same room
with him. He is a sexual predator and he SHOULD BE IN JAIL. People need
to hear the truth about who I really am - I need to show the judge that
not only do I not need ANY help making decisions about."
"So
sorry you've been fooled by Sam Lufti and my parents, but they are
lying about stealing money from me and i cannot continue to allow them
to buse me any more," she continued.
"Also
Love Bugs, I look horrible right now because I had a procedure done
under my eyes to remove micro cysts under my eyes, so I need to Wear a
bandage To Court," Bynes noted of her appearance.
A
hearing officer reportedly said Bynes could not be held involuntarily
despite her doctor’s insistence that she is mentally ill.
She was allegedly lucid and on medication and asked to be released.
The
“Hairspray” actress was placed on an involuntary medical hold at a
Pasadena hospital on Oct. 10 after claiming that a “microchip” in her
brain led her to falsely accuse her dad of sexual abuse. Doctors
treating Bynes had gotten a 30-day extension of her involuntary hold, but that changed Thursday.View Gallery The life and times of Amanda Bynes Also this week, a probate conservatorship gave her mother, Lynn Bynes, control over her daughter's estate while she remains in round-the-clock treatment.
In
her court filings, mom Lynn Bynes cited the former Nickelodeon star's
recent DUI arrest in California and erratic public behavior in New York
as she argued that Bynes poses a "substantial risk" to herself and
others, TMZ.com first reported. Bynes’ first night of freedom saw her
chow down – alone – on fried chicken, salmon, guacamole and two
different salads, according to TMZ. She was also in search of a hotel.
It didn't take Amanda Bynes
long to launch a new rambling rant ... accusing her father of sexual
assault again, and announcing plans to get out of her conservatorship.
Friday morning, Bynes tweeted she plans to go to court today to get control of her life ... and her money. She also said, "The police filed a report against my dad - I am not able to be in the same room with him. He is a sexual predator and he SHOULD BE IN JAIL."
TMZ broke the story ... Bynes was sprung from the psychiatric facility where she had been held for more than two weeks ... and was spotted roaming around Sunset Blvd. on Thursday night.
She concluded her Twitter rant by writing, "So sorry you've been fooled by Sam Lufti and my parents, but they are lying about stealing money from me and i cannot continue to allow them to abuse me any more! Thank You everyone, have a great day :)"
