Teresa Giudice may be heading off to prison, but that doesn’t mean she’s done with television. The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star, who was ordered 15 months in
jail Thursday, will film the reunion show for the Bravo reality series
this Sunday, Giudice is set to reportedly sit alongside her cast mates including
sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, Dina Manzo, Amber Marchese, Nicole
Napolitano and Teresa Aprea just three days after she and husband Joe
Giudice got their big reality check when sentenced for their fraud
crimes. The 42-year-old TV personality will serve her time starting January 5
before Joe, who received 41 months, while he stays at home with the
couple's four daughters. After being sentenced to 15 months in prison on Oct. 2, U.S. District Judge Esther Salas ordered Teresa to surrender just days after Christmas and New Years. the judge told the Giudice couple that their jail time would be
staggered so that their four children would have a parent at home. Joe
who is facing “imminent deportation,” after he serves his time, will
head to prison after his wife completes her sentence. That means Joe will likely head to jail in April 2016. “You’re a devoted mother. You have no criminal history. You’ve paid your
taxes.” the judge reportedly told Teresa in court. “Those girls need
their mother at this critical age in their lives. There’s a bond between
a mother and a daughter…for a moment I thought about probation…but I
think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case. I
don’t honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to
send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn’t matter who you are.
There are consequences to pay.” Teresa and Joe’s legal crisis manager Wendy Feldman told that despite their unfavorable verdict, the parents are looking at a brighter future. “Sadly, today marks the end of one stage of our criminal justice
system that is less than favorable to Teresa, Joe and their four
children. However, as with all people who go through this process, it is
also the chance for a new beginning. Teresa, Joe and their children
will reflect on what has happened, why it happened and what will happen
next.”
If you watch RHONJ,
you know that Christmas is an especially special time for the Giudice
family. Sadly, this year will be nothing short of heartbreaking, as 2014
is the last year Teresa and Joe‘s
family will be together on the holiday for nearly half a decade, as Joe
will serve more than three years, following Teresa’s 15 months. Ironically, earlier on this season, Teresa begged Joe to stay with the family at Christmas — little did she know, she would be the one leaving her daughters during the holiday season. ”We need you to be around always, this family cannot function without you,” Teresa told Joe on the July 20 episode of RHONJ. “Despite what people say, this is not going to be our last Christmas together.”
Looks like Teresa was in denial over heading to jail, and she’s in for a rough reality.
