Niles Paul knocked out of Redskins-Giants game

Redskins tight end Niles Paul was forced to the locker room after a particularly hard collision late in the second quarter against the New York Giants. Paul collided with two Giants safeties as he made a grab of a Kirk Cousins pass for a sizable Redskins gain. After the hit, Paul lay motionless on the ground for a few seconds, sending scares throughout the Redskins crowd. After a few minutes, Paul was able to get up and walk off the field on his own power, albeit with Redskins medical staff with him for every step. The team announced Paul will be evaluated for a head injury and will not return to the game.
Initially, the play was ruled incomplete, but since it occurred inside of two minutes left in the first half the close call triggered an automatic challenge from the replay booth. After a second look, the refs ruled Paul made the catch and dropped the ball upon hitting the ground. The hit on Paul was flagged for a 15-yard penalty, and gave the Redskins strong field position for their only score of the first half. Earlier in the first half, Redskins defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins left the game with a rib injury. The team announced Jenkins would undergo X-rays on his ribs and called his return to the game questionable.
