After dominating music charts in Japan, idol group Girls' Generation is now making their way to China. The
nine-member K-pop group will be holding their "2014 Girls' Generation
First Fan Meeting 'Mister Mister'" on September 30 at the Baoen Stadium,
according to the Korean publication Naver.
Girls'
Generation has yet to have an official meeting with fans in China,
which makes this upcoming event all the more exciting for fans. The
members are expected to perform their hit tracks at the meeting due to
requests from their Chinese fan club and will also be preparing various
events so they can interact with the crowd, according to those involved
in organizing the event.
The members of Girls' Generation had vowed to make 2014 a great year and they're clearly successfully fulfilling their goal.
"Since
2014 is the 'Year of the Horse,' we plan to run energetically like a
horse. Starting with our new mini album, there are many plans ahead. In
appreciation for the fans who have waited for our comeback for a long
time, we plan to do lots of performances throughout the year," Sooyoung stated during an interview with Billboard.
Girls'
Generation recently rewrote K-pop history in Japan by topping the
Oricon Music Chart for four consecutive weeks with their most recent
album "The Best."
The album is a compilation of the Japanese versions of their 18 best tracks.
Aside
from their explosive popularity within Asia, Girls' Generation is
reportedly slowly stepping into the entertainment industry in the U.S.,
even locking down a deal with Interscope, according to Complex magazine.
"It's definitely a step into the U.S. market. We've been blessed with the opportunity," Girls' Generation member Tiffany told the media outlet during an interview back in 2011.
She
added, "It's great that we're also recognized in the U.S. market, and
we hope that we can start something amazing in the near future."
